A way out. It’s what the hopeless are hoping for. It’s what the hurting are aching for. It’s what Jesus is waiting to give. Lona Walker is living proof that God provides a way out, that He is the light at the end of the tunnel. Lona’s life tunnel has been dark and long, filled with betrayal and despair.
The pain of her past is real. “In 1982 my pastor husband left me with an eight-month old baby and a church congregation in disbelief.” She reflects, “I learned a lot about hopelessness during that time. I learned it doesn’t exist.”
“Hopelessness is just a smokescreen put up by the enemy.” Lona says firmly. “When we think we’re at the end of our rope, we find that’s where God shows up.”
That’s the message that comes through clearly in her meetings.
“My burden is to reach out to those who need to hear from someone who has been there and can tell them that joy truly does come in the morning.”
Lona’s presentation is profound and incisive, but it’s no downer. Her spontaneous humor combines well with her traditional inspirational musical style.
Her songs are original, taken from the pages of her life. Her stories are what she has lived. What her music and ministry creates as it blends, is without question, unique. Through her heartfelt music and piercing testimony, Lona brings her audiences an uplifting message of hope with a light-hearted, yet insightful perspective.
She would be delighted to minister at your church or event and will come on a love-offering basis.
