A self-described “songwriter by accident,” Lona concedes that she developed her craft out of mere survival. “There was a time in my life that I literally lived from song to song,” she admits. “I assumed that God was speaking to me in code.” Then she got a revelation one pre-dawn morning. She expressed to the Lord that if He would let the song she had just written pull someone else through a night like she had just spent. . . she would never regret the night she had just spent.
An instant desire took root within her to share her songs and her life. Which in itself is proof that a broken heart can sing again.
Lona wrote the dove award nominated song, "I Plead the Blood" recorded by such artists as The Lesters, The Gateway Choir and Mike Purkey of TBN. Since then she has had numerous songs recorded and/or released by various artist that run the gamut from novice amateurs to seasoned pros.
It is her prayer that as you listen to the story and hear the song, you will be blessed, inspired and someone who may have forgotten how, will learn to sing again.
